Finally it is here! Biko can now be called International Show Champion! His title was confirmed on the 4th of March by the FCI!

Well Cufts 2010 was a day to rember in the UK! Biko had his usual fun in the ring and moved as a dream with his 9.5 years. It is just so wonderful to have a dog that can still be shown at his best. Age has done him well! Then his girls the wonderful blong Anvad Daimy's Princess took Best Bitch for the second time at Crufts (amazing if you know she has only been 3 times at this show!). Avanti von Schweppenburg another lovely black and gold owned by Biko's breeder made the family party complete.....Reserve Best Bitch!

Avanti v.d Schweppenburg International Show Champion

Time does really fly. This week Avanti and her brothers and sisters were 3 years old!! Today in Bergamo, Italy she won Best Bitch at an International Show. This will make her the 2nd Internation Show Champion in Holland after her father Biko. The FCI are not so quick in confirming these titles but we know she has the 4 CACIB's with 3 being gained in different countries. Congratulations!

Biko and Pekka's pups are now nearly 3 weeks old and they are growing well. Pekka is a very natural mother and the pups are very content! The milkbar is full so what more can you want!

On the 4th of January 2010 the first Hovawart litter of the year was born in the Netherlands. Biko is the father and Cedo von Dalhauk (Pekka) the mothher. In 12 hours 8 puppies were born: 3 b/g dogs, 4 black dogs and 1 b/g female. The birth weights range from: 440gr -680gr. Mother and pups are doing well!

Good news from Norway about Biko's daughter Stacey. Her hipscore just like her sister her in Holland (Zerline) is also HD-A! Congratulations to all especially Toruun the breeder who made such an effort to come to Holland with Amy for the mating.

Biko is the Dutch Winner 2009!

Today was the Dutch Winner Show 2009. Biko was entered in the Veteran Class, with his 9 years and 3 months I felt it was probably time to do this instead of the Champions Class. At the end of the Day after putiing on a magical performance Biko was Best Veteran, Best Dog and has won the title Winner 2009! The icing on the cake was at the end of judging Biko competed against his own daughter Avanti von Schweppenburg for Best of Breed. Pappa was took the honours! Avanti now can also call herself Winster 2009. I must not forget to mention either that Dratini Bayleef, Bikos imported Norwegian daughter was 1st Excellent in her class as well. A day to remember!!

Aanvad Daimy's Princess

Well lovely Aanvads Daimy's Princess UK (litter) has returned to the show ring after some time. She is the 2008 BOB from Crufts and also the 2008 Club Winner in the UK. She was shown at a Scottish Championship show and I think the critique says it all.

"Hosie’s Annvad Daimys Princess Beautiful 4 year old blonde bitch. Judged her before as a puppy and loved her then. She has since matured into a stunning adult both standing and moving. Her head is feminine with the darkest of eye, her pigmentation is good, her lips beautifully fitting. Correct jaw, with small neat ears. Her shoulders gentle slope back and continue into strong long straight top line, with loose flowing tail held correctly. Super blonde shading. She glides around the ring with her head held high on the neatest of tiny feet, very much in tune with her master. Star quality, what more can I say. BB & BOB"

It has been a very nice week for us here. Aika von der Schweppenburg passed on Sunday the 9th of November her Adult Character test (Mag-test/ZTP) with flying colours and Dratini's Bayleefs (Zerline) HD results are in.....HD-A. We are especially happy as the owners would like to breed with these girls!

Love is really in the air and Pekka and Biko really do like each other! Today a sucessful mating took place. Keeping our fingers crossed and not tempting fait we should see puppies arriving at the beginning of January 2010. All colours can be expected.

FCI International Show Champion (C.I.E.)

After a visit to Belgium this month Biko entered the Champions Class again at 9 years old and was Best of Breed. He won the CACIB which means the application for the title International Show Champion (Champion International d'Exposition)has been sent to the FCI. If granted Biko will become the 1st Hovawart in The Netherlands to gain this title and only the second ever with an FCI International title.

The New Title Rules are as follows:
To be eligible for the title of International Show Champion (CIE), the dogs must have fulfilled the following conditions:
a) have earned in three different countries, under three different judges, 4 (four) Certificates
d'Aptitude au Championnat International de Beaute (CACIB) no matter the number of dogs;
b) betweem the first and last CACIB, a minimum period of one year and one day must have
elapsed.

After winning his 3rd CAC in Germany Biko is now German Veteran Champion. He is the 1st Dutch Hovawart to gain this prize.

Biko has yet another "new lover" in his life. Her name is Faizah "Franzi von Berchtenstadt ". Faizah is a very sweet B/G girl from Germany. On the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of October the love affair began and hopefully at christmas we will recieve a big present of many pattering paws.

After the sucess of her 1/2 sister Willow van de Romerweide, Annvad Daimy's Princess (Biko's Uk litter) had to do the same.....at the Hovawart Club of Great Britains Show on the 8th of October went to Best in Show to! Amazing to have 2 1/2 sisters from different litters winning Best in Shows within one month.

Biko Veteran Champion

After winning 2 shows Best Veteran we went of to Maatricht at the end of September for the Maatricht International Show. Biko knew how to do it style.....winning not only Best Veteran but also Best Dog. Biko's daughter Chanti won Best Bitch so Papa and daughter competed against each other for Best of Breed. Papa was still to strong for his daughter (20 months old) and he became Best of Breed and also Dutch Veteran Champion. Biko and his mother are the first Parent/Child combination to do this!

Dutch Club Championship Show

Sunday the 7th of September was the Dutch Hovawart Championship Clubshow. It was a big family affair with Zerline form Biko's Norwegian litter coming second in the Baby Class. Chanti from Biko's first German litter won the intermediate Class and Willow from Biko's Dutch litter winning the Breeders Class. Last but not least Bodil - Biko's sister won the Veteran Bitch Class.

Biko himself won the Vetran Class and went onto to beat Bodil for Best Veteran in Show. Biko also managed to go to Reserve Best Dog. Willo howver decided to take it all the way and became Best in Show - Clubsiegeren CAC. Willow also became Dutch Champion.

On the 29th of August and after just turning at years old we flew to Norway to meet the rest of Biko's lovely girls from the Norwegian litter. Biko was entered in the Champions Class even though he was a Veteran. The "old man" managed to beat iff all the young Gods at ened up Norwegian Clubsieger and automatically Norwegian Champion.

On the 13th of April the "B" Litter from Dratini where born. 5 Pokeman girls: Beautifly "Zira", Blastoise "Stacy", Blissey "Blissey", Bayleef "Zerline" and Blaziken "Lotten". Blissey and Zerline may pack their bags and move to The Netherlands.

Crufts 2008,UK

Again Biko had qualified for Crufts in 2008 and also 2009. March the 8th was the big day for the Hovawarts at Crufts. 2 of Biko's daughters from the UK where also at Crufts. Anvad Dutch Dream took the 2nd place in her Class. Biko won his class and after a great competetion was awarded Reserve Best Dog. BUT Annvad Daimys Princess actually won Best Of Breed at not even 3 years of age!

In february 2008 a lovely black and gold Hovawartt female called Amy travelled to Holland with her owner Toruun. The result of the 4 day meeting bestween Biko and Amy will hopefully result in puppies very soon.

Ofilou was Biko's mother and a wonderful Hovwart to know. She had 2 litters in her life te first being that of Biko's. She was the first Dutch Hovawart to become Veteran Champion! She died very sadly on June the 18th 2007. This last photograph taken with Biko, Avanti and Ofilou show 3 generations together. Biko's breeder Jillian now is the proud owner of Avanti, Biko's daughter and Ofilou's granddaughter

On the 20th of January 2007 Biko's first litter was born in Germany. 8 healthy puppies: 1 boy and 7 girls. Poor old Anouk had a hard time with all those girls!

In 2007 we visited Crufts for the 2nd time! A full Dutch fan club was present to see Biko winning is class.

Adson vom Grossen Woog- Bikos father

Biko's father was a wonderful black male called Adson vom Grossen Woog. Adson was father to many puppies in many countries including Holland. We had the oppertunity to meet Adson in 2001 and spent a lovely weekend with him and Arca, Biko's aunty. Sadly Adson died suddenly in 2006 just before he was 9 years old.
